“It is a narrow gate and a hard road that leads to life, and only a few find it.” –Matthew 7:14

Welcome to Narrow Path Publishing!

Narrow Path Publishing is an evolving, dynamic, independent publishing company located in Eastern North Carolina. Originally founded upon the idea that “there’s enough room in this world for everybody to be successful,” Narrow Path Publishing has grown to embrace Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) in several specific ways. All projects have a socially conscious orientation, and 10% of profits from each book sold are earmarked for specific charities related to the project’s focus. Some of Narrow Path Publishing’s pet causes include gay rights and advocacy, autism awareness, and disabled people’s rights.

Stephanie Silberstein

Buy at Amazon The company was founded in 2007 by author Stephanie Silberstein, after numerous rejections of her young adult novel, Winter’s Silence, on the grounds that adults wouldn’t want to read a book written from the point of view of a six-year-old child. Winter’s Silence was published in June 2008, using the graphic design and photography talents of Silberstein’s friends, David G. Chayim and Shoshannah Stone. Winter’s Silence has sold about 150 copies to date and is available on Amazon.com.

Early in 2008, Silberstein began working on her next novel, Shades of Gay. Set in an anonymous small town, Shades of Gay is narrated by a seventeen-year-old boy as he struggles with coming out, relationships, and the whole process of leaving childhood behind. Shades of Gay will again feature David G. Chayim’s artwork and Shoshannah Stone’s photography. It will be released in May 2010.

narrow path In the last year, Narrow Path Publishing has developed from a small showcase of three people’s work to a social activist organization committed to the ideals of fairness, equal opportunity, and justice. Stephanie Silberstein hopes the company will become a major player in the gay rights movement and related causes.
